Although many people now recognize Lead Based Paint as potentially harmful, there are still those who do not have the correct knowledge and understanding of Lead & Molds. In this blog, we will be discussing the dangers of undetected Lead Based Paint and how you can better protect yourself and your family against these potentially life-threatening contaminants.
Typically, older homes, child care facilities and schools are the most likely to contain lead based paint. Usually the buildings that contain lead based paint are single-family homes, apartment, condos and hotel rooms. They could be private or corporate. The best way to determine if your house has been contaminated by lead based paint is to go to any local hardware store and pick up an “EPA Recognized Test Kit”. EPA Recognized Test Kits are very straight forward and easy to use.
The best advice that we can give you, is to do a full sweep of your house, Doors, Door frames, window sills and cabinets are the most likely places to be contaminated with Lead Based Paint. Aside from the obvious, Lead Poisoning, there are a number of diseases and potentially life-threatening medical conditions associated with lead based paint. When the lead is knocked loose from the paint, it penetrates deep into the blood stream causing nerve damage, learning deficits and potentially death.
